Illustration of scaling behaviour for a randomly selected patient. Fitting a polynomial to the log-log relation between the mean and variance for different levels of aggregation allows to determine a slope for any value of n. This in turn can be converted to the fractal dimension of the activity sequence around that particular range of scales. To obtain these results, the AAA method was applied to the full 3-week activity sequence of a patient chosen at random, with \(n_{min}=1\), \(n_{max}=10\times 60\) and \(s=1.1\)
