The change in the number of immigrants to Japan. Data acquired by the Ministry of Justice (Japan). The total number of immigrants has been gradually increasing, with a particularly sharp increase since 1990. After the Fukushima earthquake and consequent nuclear disaster in 2011, the number of immigrants decreased in response. China includes Hong Kong and Taiwan for the purpose of this report.
